Carnal Harvest

She saw movement out of the corner of her eye. Hake was poised to leap to her defense. “No, Mr. Robber, sir,” she whined. “Honestly, I—”

“That ‘tweren’t very smart.” Festus was back in full force as he retracted the blade, and her shoulders drooped with relief when he tossed it onto the counter. But then he pulled the string at her back and lifted the apron over her head. It landed on top of the knife. “Since it seems you can’t be trusted with even a little ol’ apron, you don’t get to keep it now.”

Her cheeks flamed anew at being naked in front of them all again, but she’d rather deal with that than the knife.

Then she frowned—he was rearranging everything on the table, moving the dishes to the edges and opening up the space in the middle.

“Up you go,” he said.

“What?” she asked, wide-eyed.

“We’ve obviously got to keep a close eye on you,” he drawled. “Hop up here and lie down on your back.”

Heart racing, she glanced at Hake. It was hard to decipher the way he was looking at her, but there was definitely fire in his eyes.

She got up onto the table and let Brent arrange her with her knees bent and her feet on either side of Hake’s plate. Thank God they’d put the extra leaf in for company or her head would be hanging off the other end. As it was, her toes were gripping the edge of the table. Jeez, this was more embarrassing than anything she could have dreamed up, but at least Hake was the one she was aiming her wares at.

“And since you’re up there, you might as well entertain us. Here’s something for you to play with,” Brent said, pushing the icy dildo into her hand as he and Joe settled into the chairs on either side of her. “Make me believe you’re enjoying yourself or Hake’s in serious trouble.”

“You’ve got to be kidding,” she breathed.
